Getting in the spirit of my next painting: Gluttony Getting in spirit for my next painting (Seven Deadly Sins: Gluttony)

Kathryn Cook grew up in Westchester County, NY.  Having been blessed with growing up in an area rich in culture and with easy access to some the worlds finest collections of art, she found a purpose behind her passion to create.  While pursuing an Art Degree she had the opportunity to intern in SOHO and immerse herself in a world that questioned, challenged or celebrated life through visual imagery.

Kathryn left school as her focus turned to her growing family and her creativity was channelled into the nurturing of small children.  Paintings shifted from canvases to bedroom walls, small pieces of furniture and home made toys; rocking horses, miniature knights and horses and rooms of dollhouse furniture.

In 2003, her family relocated to North Carolina.  Shorty after her youngest child began school the opportunity to focus her attention to art returned.  The new opportunity to paint came with a new vision to interpret the attitudes and activities in today's culture.  Relationships have always fascinated her and the different relationships that exist between individuals and our society stand at the core of her work.  Kathryn's paintings provide visual metaphors for the viewer to consider ideas that define different elements of human nature, for better or for worse, as well as our response to the age we live in.
